The Perfect Pineapple Report 2021: Week 44

  • Heavy rainfall during the start of the week tapering off mid-week
    • 33,2 mm (1 1/3 inches) of rainfall were recorded.
      • Air temperatures  were stable
        • Minimum air temperature was 22,6°C (72,7°F); the average reached  27.1°C (80,7°F).
        • Soil temperature declined slightly to 27,6°C (81,7°F).
        • Solar radiation varied from moderate to low with no risk of sunburn or “corky fruit”.
        • Relative humidity rose to 85,1%.
  • Harvest age continues to be adjusted –  66.8% was harvested at 21 WAF and 33.2% at 20 WAF.
  • Sugar content is unchanged
    •  the percentage of fruit with a brix higher than 15.5 declined to 38,2%
  • Flavor, taste and aroma, remain at The Perfect Pineapple level.
  • New cases of Covid 19 continue to decrease.
    • 4.294  new cases reported  – a decrease of 34.5%.
    • Restrictions imposed by the government authorities will be eliminated on November 1st.
    • The farms report 93% of the labor force fully vaccinated. T
    • The country reports 52% of the total population fully vaccinated
    • Starting  booster shots for first responders and front line health workers.
