The Perfect Pineapple Report 2020: Week 8

  • For the last 2 weeks we seem to be in transition to drier climatic conditions:
    • It only rained the first day of the week – 39.3 mm (1.5 inches)
    •  Slight increase in minimum and average temperatures
    • Soil temperature remains stable
    • Very low humidity (69.6%)
  • Harvest age reduced
    • 46% of our fruit harvested at 20 WAF (up from 38% prior week)
    • 54% harvested at 21 WAF (down from 62% prior week)
  • Average sugar content increased and internal conditions remain outstanding
  • Natural flowering identification is underway; incidence recorded is low but it is too early to make conclusions.
