The Perfect Pineapple Report 2021: Week 43

  • Just 2.8 mm – 0,11 inches  of rainfall were recorded this week!
  • Slight variation in temperatures
    • Minimum air temperature was 22,6°C (72,7°F)
    • Average reached 27.3°C (81,2°F)
    • Soil temperature was 28°C (82,4°F).
  • Solar radiation varied from moderate to high but the risk of  sunburn and “corky fruit” is low.
  • Relative humidity also  fell to 83,1%.
  • Harvest strategy is holding steady – most fruit harvested @ 21 WAF ( 72%); 26% harvested at 20 WAF and balance was 19 WAF
  • Average sugar content is very steady but we still have around 41% higher than 15.5º Brix.
  • The good news is the improvement in pulp firmness and consistency
    • psi less than 2.7 declined to only 1,7%;  minimum was 2.6 psi; the average 4,3 psi and the maximum was 5.7 psi.
