Click here to read this week’s farm report.

  • More evidence that the rainy season is upon us as weekly precipitation approaches the “tropical’ average:
    • Accumulated weekly  precipitation reaches 40.8 mm (1.6 inches)
    • Minimum and average temperatures stable; soil temperature slightly lower
  • Very fine and rather precise adjustments to harvest age continue:
    • 52.3% harvested at 20 WAF and balance at 21 WAF
  • We know we are doing something right in adjusting harvest age as sugar content, internal color and maturity as well as taste and aroma of our fruit  are defining The Perfect Pineapple!
  • Large fruit is abundant  (4’s,5’s & 6’s) making 60% of total exports
  • From experimental to commercial application
    • 30% of area harvested this week was ripened/degreened using drones!
    • Trials underway to induce flowering with same technology
  • Coronavirus cases continue to decline (-6%); 7.574 new cases and 99  deaths reported this week

Happy Halloween! Trick & Treat safely!
