The Perfect Pineapple Report 2021: Week 23

  • The showers that started the prior weekend continued into the new week bringing
    • 110.5 mm (4.4 inches) of precipitation
    • Average minimum and average air temperatures declined
    • Low solar intensity and high humidity
    • This change in climatic conditions slowed down the maturation process of the fruit
  • Harvest age adjusted;  less younger fruit at 21 WAF harvested (63%) the rest at 22 and even some 23 WAF
  • NDF fruit made up 34% of our total volume and represents the peak harvest of NDF (it has been a very modest peak)
  • Quality continues to hold at excellent level
  • External color has improved
  • Covid new cases down 10% from prior week; vaccination efforts undertaken aggresively
