The Perfect Pineapple Report 2020: Week 23

  • The second week in a row with limited precipitation and warm temperatures
    • Recorded precipitation was 6.6 mm (1/4th of an inch).
    • Minimum temperature reached 23.8 ºC ( 74.9 ºF)
    • Average temperature was 28 ºC ( 82.5 ºF)
    • Soil temperature rose to 28.5 ºC ( 83.2 ºF)
  • Minimum adjustment to harvest age with  slight increase in percentage of younger  fruit harvested at 20 WAF (9.5%)
  • Sugar content continues to increase both the average now 15.8 and the percentage above 15.5 now at 58%
  • Firmness of the pulp increased and now less than 1% below 2.7 PSI
  • Coronavirus confirmed cases now at 1,047 but no increase in fatalities.
